<The Place That Can’t Escape>is a duet that begins with the notion of relationship, yet turns inward toward a deeper exploration of the self. The work originates from a dream in which the body sinks into the ocean and is rescued by a faceless figure—an image that becomes the foundation of the piece’s imagination.
The work reflects on an invisible yet persistent tension involving restraint, the self, and society. As these forces are subtly imposed upon the individual, the body and its relationships are drawn into recurring cycles of inescapability—caught between submersion and resistance, searching for a way out.
<The Place That Can’t Escape> 是一首雙人舞,從關係出發,卻更深沉地回返自身。作品源於一次夢境——在夢中,身體沉入大海,被一位無臉之人拯救,這個經驗成為創作的起點與想像的核心。
作品討論一種無形卻持續存在的張力,關於束縛、自我與社會。當這些力量悄然施加於個體之上,關係與身體彷彿被捲入一場又一場無法逃離的輪迴,在反覆的沉沒與掙扎中,尋找可能的出口。
